Swim With Us

Get a US Masters Swimming (USMS) membership, pay pool fees, and sign up for workouts to join the team. If you want to try a workout, or you are a visiting USMS swimmer, or you are an open water swimmer, skip to sign up.

USMS Membership

USMS is a national nonprofit that provides membership benefits to nearly 60,000 adults (18 and over) who want to swim. These benefits include insurance, which you need to get in the pool with us, plus many other features to aid your swimming, such as individual record keeping. USMS Membership is just $75 per year, and you get to be an official Master. You don’t have to tell anyone that, in this context, “master” only means that you are 18 or older. Get or renew your membership directly with USMS.

Pool Access

We get to swim at the Fort Lauderdale Aquatics Complex, on A1A just South of Las Olas Boulevard, co-located with the International Swimming Hall of Fame. The outdoors complex features a competition pool hosting world-class meets, a training pool set at 50 meters or 25 yards depending on the season, and the highest diving tower in the western hemisphere.

Monthly Pool Access

For steady access to the complex, fill out these City of Fort Lauderdale Parks & Recreation forms: write down Masters as your program, and pick either $80/month for 3 workouts per week, or $90/month for unlimited workouts. Enter your credit card number on the last page, then email the filled-out form and the city will start charging your card every month. To stop the payments, remember to email the city at least 10 days before the end of the month.

Trials & Visits

No need to pay fees if you want to try a workout, or if you are a visiting USMS member. Just sign up for workouts following the instructions below.

Our open water swimmers use a WhatsApp group chat to discuss ocean conditions before each Sunday. Email us at contact@sftlmasters.com for more info.
